Introduction of Bosphorus University

Bosphorus University is located in Istanbul, Turkey. It was established in 1863 with the name of Robert College as the first American higher education institute out of the U.S.A.

The number of buildings and presented courses were not a lot at the beginning but later more courses were added and its name changed to Bosphorus University in 1971.

This university is famous for its research aspect. It is also located in the European part of the Bosphorus Strait.

Campus Life in Bosphorus University

This university has seven main campuses named; South, North, Hisar, Ucaksavar, Kennedy, Kandilli, and Kilyos.

Bosphorus University has a fresh colorful campus because of a variety of sport and art activities, club, healthcare, research center and library.

The number of students clubs is a lot and the most popular ones are as the following:

There are ten dormitories in Bosphorus University for girls and boys with different facilities such as laundry rooms, fitness rooms, computer rooms and prayer rooms.

They all have a capacity of about 3550 students.

Ranking and Transportation

Bosphorus University has a high ranking among all universities annually.

In 2013, it was in top 100 global universities as the only university from Turkey based on Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings.

According to Center of World University Ranking (CWUR) in 2018, Bosphorus University has an International ranking of 740 and a national rank of 8.

In 2019, according to QS Global World Ranking, Bosphorus University had a ranking of 651-700 .

There are different ways to get to Bosphorus University; but it is needed to check the schedules based on your location; but you can generally take a bus, minibus and subway from different parts of the city to the university and its campuses by public transportation if you do not want to drive your personal car.
